ROTARY TABLE, CIRCULAR INDEXING TABLE, ASSEMBLY SYSTEM, AND OPERATING METHOD

Reconfiguring a rotary table (1) significantly increases flexibility in rotary cycle assembly systems since the rotary table (1) can be retooled in a single configuration step to be able to process workpieces of a different type by providing the rotary table with two holders (A, B) and turning said holders (A, B) by a configuration angle (K). It is no longer necessary to dismount the entire rotary table (1) and replace the same with another rotary table (1) to process an different class of workpieces. The rotary table (1) therefore opens up new possibilities for combining circular indexing tables in automatic rotary cycle systems, thus satisfying the need for more flexibility in "design for flexibility" and "plug & produce" contexts. Reconfiguring the rotary table (1) allows the production units (F1, F2) to be used in a more flexible manner and thus also render the extent and duration of manual operations significantly more flexible so that manual and mechanical operations can be synchronized to a high degree and the whole process can be made more efficient.
