The present invention relates to a method for regulating development and formation of phloem in plants using a recombinant vector comprising a PHD protein regulating differentiation of the phloem and a gene encoding the protein, a plant transformed with the recombinant vector, seeds of the plant, and the gene encoding the PHD protein. The present invention has excellent effects on regulation of the size and storage capacity of the storage organ in the plant by regulating the development of the phloem, which is an organ performing the most important role in transporting photosynthate from a plant and finally storing in a storage organ in forms of starch and sugar, thereby regulating functions of the phloem. Additionally, since the present invention can significantly improve the development of the phloem by silencing the PHD gene in the plant, the present invention is expected to enhance the functions of the plant phloem by regulating expression of the PHD gene using genetic engineering techniques. |
