<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical indicator allowing to easily read a pointer value without changing a posture. <P>SOLUTION: The vertical indicator 10 includes an indicator body 1 and a rotating body 2 with a scale plate 2a. In the indicator body 1, a long panel 1a is disposed at a front surface of a frame 1f. A rotating center of the rotating body 2 is supported inside the frame 1f. The scale plate 2a is formed as a band-shape arc surface with a predetermined radius from the rotating center. The panel 1a has a rectangular window 1w through which a part of the scale plate 2a is displayed. A cover 1b is adjacent to scale lines displayed on the scale plate 2a and has a pointer 1c displayed on the window 1w. The panel 1a displays the pointer 1c at a lower site of the window 1w. In the vertical indicator 10, the panel 1a is disposed at a position of a monitoring board so that the line of sight is directed upward, it is therefore unnecessary to read the pointer value while stretching as before.
