System and method for controlling a window of a monitor

The method involves influencing a structure of an operating region i.e. window, of a monitor by operating window controlling elements (F1-F3) e.g. window-management buttons. The operating region of the monitor is alternatively engaged in normal and optimal states by operating an additional window controlling element (F4) e.g. button with an exchanging icon. An optical appearance of the additional window controlling element is changed depending on the normal and optimal states, where functionality assigned to the additional window controlling element is activated in the optimal state. An independent claim is also included for a system for controlling an operating region of a monitor.
