A retaining device 1 for retaining a wheel fastener 2 comprises a main body 3 attachable to a wheel. An engagement portion 5 is arranged to engage with the wheel fastener 2, the engagement portion 5 comprising at least one opening 6 for, in use, permitting a wheel fastener 2 to extend through the opening 6. The engagement portion 5 is moveable with respect to the main body 3. A stop mechanism 10 is co operable with the engagement portion 5, such that the engagement portion 5 is moveable in a first direction so as to permit the wheel fastener 2 to become secured and the engagement portion 5 is prohibited from moving in a second direction by the stop mechanism 10 so as to restrict movement of the wheel fastener 2 in the second direction. The engagement portion 5 may include teeth 9 and the stop mechanism 10 may comprise a pawl. |
