<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent defect by gas generated in a sand core. <P>SOLUTION: The sand core 48 is disposed in a cavity 32. A groove 40 corresponding to a rib of a molded article is formed on an inner wall 38a of a side mold 38. The groove 40 has lower side grooves 40a and 40b and an upper side groove 40c, and a junction 45 where the two branched lower side grooves 40a and 40b are merged, and also merged with the upper side groove 40c, and which has an opening facing the cavity 32. The junction 45 is provided with a ventilation hole 42 communicating with the outside and a trap member 44 filled in the ventilation hole 42.
