<p>A jet turbine/compressor which comprises blades 6 with a flange 5 that are bolted 4 on to a disc facet 2 of a disc 1 into respective threaded mating holes 5h. Each blade has internal oil coolant passages 5p connected to inlet 7 and outlet 8 ports. A seal is used between the flange and facet, preferable the seal is an inert elastomeric shim 12 of PTFE, Viton and/or Nylon material. The seal helping to dampen blade vibration and assist in adjustment of blade tip clearance. Preferably the coolant system is a closed loop circuit having a coolant pump and heat exchanger.</p> |
