<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop anα-olefinic polymerization catalyst which has both a high molecular weight and a high comonomer content, can produce anα-olefin-methacrylic acid-based copolymer and has a high polymerization activity. <P>SOLUTION: The catalyst for copolymerizing anα-olefin and a polar group-containing monomer is made, for example, by using, as a catalyst composition, a metal complex having as a ligand a triphenylphosphine containing a sulfonyl group, such as [di(2-isopropylphenyl)](3-isopropyl-2-sulfonylphenyl)phosphine. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
