Strain of Pleurotus ostreatus ED-1 fungus, use of the strain for additional treatment of waste water containing endocrine disruptors, method of additional treatment of waste water containing endocrine disruptors by using the strain of Pleurotus ostreatus ED-1 fungus, and apparatus for making the same

In the present invention, there is disclosed a strain of Pleurotus ostreatus ED-1 fungus exhibiting biodegradable activity against endocrine disruptors, deposited in the CCBAS – Czech Collection of Microorganisms of the Microbiological Institute AVČR Vídeňská 1083, Praha 4 - Krč, 142 20, under a depository number of the sample CCBAS 1374, ED-1, deposition No. 2014, as well as its use for additional treatment of waste water containing endocrine disruptors. The present invention further describes a method of additional treatment of waste water wherein two fungal beds (3, 3´) arranged one above the other on perforated grates (4) are put into a bioreactor (2), wherein the fungal beds (3, 3´) comprise straw substrate containing mycelium of the Pleurotus ostreatus ED-1 fungus strain, wherein wastewater to be additionally treated is sprayed onto the upper fungal bed (3). Wastewater is then retained in the bioreactor (2) lower section such that the lower fungal bed (3´) is flooded with wastewater to be additionally treated dropping down from the upper fungal bed (3), wherein the lower fungal bed (3´) is aerated. Prior entry (5) of the additionally treated wastewater into the bioreactor (2) or after discharge thereof from the bioreactor (2) into a secondary reaction tank (10), Hi2Oi2 is added into the additionally treated wastewater wherein the additionally treated wastewater is retained in the secondary reaction tank (10) for a period of at least 48 hours. The invention also discloses an apparatus for making the above-described method.
