<p>The present invention relates to an image providing system and an image providing method. The image providing system includes an image providing device and a user terminal device. The image providing device extracts text information and text location information, which are included in image information, stores the extracted information together with corresponding image information and a thumbnail, and when an image information request is received through a network, provides at least one of the image information and the thumbnail, the text information and the text location information. The user terminal device transmits the image information request through the network, receives image information, text information and text location information from the image providing device, displays the received image information on a display unit in a thumbnail form, and then displays the text information together with the thumbnail when a selection of a text display is input in a predetermined user input method. Accordingly, the image providing system recognizes text information included in an image, stores the recognized text information together with a corresponding image, and provides the user terminal device with the text information together with the image information according to the user terminal device′s request, thereby enabling a user to recognize easily text included in an original image even when the original image is reduced and displayed.</p> |
