<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium-manganese compound oxide used as a positive electrode material of a lithium secondary battery with high output characteristics, and manganese oxyhydroxide suitably used as a raw material thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The lithium-manganese compound oxide is obtained using manganese oxyhydroxide as the raw material, provided that the manganese oxyhydroxide has an average minor axis length of 0.05-0.5 μm and an average major axis length of 3-20 μm. The lithium-manganese compound oxide preferably has an average aspect ratio of 10-100. The manganese oxyhydroxide is obtained by reacting metal manganese in an aqueous solution in the presence of manganese dioxide. Preferably, the molar ratio (H<SB>2</SB>O/Mn) of water to the total manganese elements in the aqueous solution is 6-40. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
