[Problem] There is provided a steering device which prevents an inner column from coming out from an outer column even when the inner column is released from being telescopically clamped by the outer column in a state before mounting a vehicle body attaching bracket of the steering device to a vehicle body. [Means for Resolution] Front ends in view of the vehicle body of the telescopic position adjusting long grooves 43 and 44 are brought into contact with an outer peripheral face of a fastening rod 5 at a rear end in view of the vehicle body a telescopically adjusting position, andtherefore, the fastening rod 5 is moved to a rear side of the vehicle body. A vehicle body attaching bracket 2 is going to come out from an inner column 3 along with an outer column 4 by being pulled by the fastening rod 5. Then, an engaging member 68 outwardly fitted to the fastening rod 5 is brought into contact with the collar 86, and therefore, the fastening rod 5 cannot be moved to a rear side of the vehicle body further, and the outer column 4 and the vehicle body attaching bracket 2 can be prevented from coming out from the inner column 3. |
