The present invention is a nonaqueous-electrolyte halogen cell (10) provided with a negative electrode (14) employing as the negative electrode active material thereof a material that emits lithium ions, a positive electrode (16) employing a halogen as the positive electrode active material thereof, and an ionically conductive medium (18) that includes lithium ions and a halogen, wherein the ionically conductive medium (18) includes a nonaqueous solvent that forms a molecular complex with the halogen containing one or more compounds selected from the group consisting of sulfur-containing organic compounds that have one or more double bonds of sulfur and oxygen, and phosphorus-containing organic compounds that have one or more double bonds of phosphorus and oxygen, thereby increasing the operating voltage. |
