PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a unit removal device with a configuration which does not cause a backlash at a lock mechanism, prevents abnormal noise and variations in skew, and secures engagement at an engagement section.SOLUTION: The unit removal device has a lock mechanism for locking the unit which is detachably attached to a housing of an image forming apparatus. The lock mechanism is provided with a swingable lock lever 100 whose both ends in a longitudinal direction are used as swinging ends, the lock lever 100: having, at one of the swinging ends, an opposite surface 100C opposing, in a flop over state, an immovable portion 1C within the housing when the opposite surface 100C is swung in a direction for engaging to the immovable portion 1C; and having, at the another of the swinging ends, an externally operable operation part 100P. The opposite surface as a slope, of the lock lever is formed to externally fit a surface on the side opposite to a unit separation direction R, of the immovable portion 1C, when the opposite surface of the lock lever, located at the one of the swinging ends, is swung in the direction for flopping over the immovable portion 1C. |
