<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting the viable microbial cells of microorganisms, capable of discriminating the live microbial cells from dead microbial cells on Gram negative bacteria in a shorter radiation time. <P>SOLUTION: This method for detecting the viable microbial cells of the microorganisms in a test sample is provided by including: (a) treating the test sample with a surfactant; (b) treating the test sample treated with the surfactant by ethidium monoazide or propidium monoazide; (c) then, irradiating the test sample with visible light; (d) extracting a DNA from the test sample irradiated with the visible light; (e) treating with any of a topoisomerase inhibitor or a DNA gyrase inhibitor in any of the processes from (a) to (d); and (f) amplifying the target region of the extracted DNA by a nucleic acid amplification method. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
