The present invention relates to a method of protecting fuel cell drives from corrosion using cooling systems which are based on antifreeze concentrates based on alkylene glycols or derivatives thereof, from which ready-to-use aqueous coolant compositions having a conductivity of not more than 50 [mu]S/cm result, wherein the antifreeze concentrates contain orthosilicic acid ester of the general formula I, in which the substituents Re1 through Re4 are identical or different and represent an alkyl group containing 1 to 20 carbon atoms, an alkenyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, an optionally substituted aryl group containing 6 to 12 carbon atoms and/or glycol ether substituents of the general formula -(CHi2-CHi2-O)in -Re5, wherein Re5 denotes a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group containing 1 to 5 carbon atoms and n is 1 through 5. The invention also relates to the use of the antifreeze concentrates based on alkylene glycols or derivatives thereof containing the aforementioned orthosilicic acid ester in fuel cell drives. |
