Method of transmitting feedback message in wireless communication system

A method and an apparatus for transmitting a feedback message is provided. The method includes receiving an allocation message comprising a feedback type field and a channel quality indicator channel (CQICH) type field from a base station (BS), assigning at least one of a primary fast feedback channel and a secondary fast feedback channel based on the CQICH type field and transmitting a feedback message through the at least one of a primary fast feedback channel and a secondary fast feedback channel to the BS, wherein the feedback type field indicates the feedback information type to be included in the feedback message and the CQICH type field identifies at least the primary fast feedback channel or secondary fast feedback channel to be used for the feedback message.
