发明名称 Electrode preparation
摘要 A carbon electrode is produced by heating a porous carbon body in CO2 at 870-1100 DEG C., cooling in CO2, heating in an O2-containing gas at 200-500 DEG C., impregnating with an aqueous solution of a metal compound, and finally drying and heating at 300-550 DEG C. in an O2-free atmosphere, e.g. N2 or H2, to decompose the metal compound. The O2-containing gas may be air diluted with N2 to an O2 concentration of at least 0.5 vol. per cent, e.g. 2-3%, or the O2 concentration may be above that in air. H2O vapour may also be present, e.g. 1-20 vol. per cent. The porous body may be obtained by mixing ground carbon or graphite with pitch binder and heating under pressure. The metal which is one having catalytic activity in electrochemical reactions, may be Ag, Au, Pt, Pd, Rh, Ir, Ru, Ni, Co, Mn, Mo, or Cr, and may be employed as chloride or nitrate or as, e.g., chloroplatinic acid.
