Disclosed is a method to control an on-line rolling roll grinding apparatus capable of not only expanding the controllable range of a grinding apparatus but also uniformly grinding the surface of a rolling roll by controlling the rotating speed of grindstone and the braking force of grindstone according to the roll rotating speed of the rolling roll. According to the present invention, the method to control an on-line rolling roll grinding apparatus comprises: a step of setting a grinding amount and a grinding range of a rolling roll as a control unit receives information on a grinding state from a higher control unit; and a step of operating a grind driving unit by comparing a roll rotating speed with a preset reference speed as the control unit receives the roll rotating speed of the rolling roll from the higher control unit.
