<p>The present invention relates to a system and a method for processing an object by using a stereo camera. The method for processing the object by using the stereo camera comprises steps of: separating the object from each of left and right images transmitted from the stereo camera including left and right cameras in an object processing unit, comparing previously stored comparison target information with the separated object to determine a kind of object; calculating a speed and azimuth, based on acceleration of a moving body to which the stereo camera calculated from an acceleration sensor is attached; transmitting the speed and azimuth of the object to the object processing unit; calculating a distance and azimuth between the object and the camera in the object processing unit; determining a dangerous situation in response to a distance and the speed and azimuth of the moving body; and outputting a signal for alarm and record control from the object processing unit when it is determined as the dangerous situation. According to the present invention, since safe driving is enabled, and an image and sound are controlled to be recorded in only the dangerous situation, a storage can be efficiently used. Also, since whether the recording is performed is determined through a software processing technique, accuracy in recording can be expected.</p> |
