PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorber capable of improving ride quality in a vehicle.SOLUTION: A shock absorber D1 includes: a cylinder 1; a piston 2 which is swingably inserted into the cylinder 1 and divides the inside of the cylinder 1 into an extension side chamber R1 and a pressure side chamber R2; a reservoir R; a suction passage 3; a rectifying passage 4; and a damping force adjusting part V. The shock absorber D1 also includes either or both of the following mechanisms: an extension side sensitive mechanism RME including an extension side operation chamber E communicated with the extension side chamber R1 and the pressure side chamber R2, and an extension side free piston 15 dividing the inside of the extension side operation chamber E into an extension side first pressure chamber E1 and an extension second pressure chamber E2; and a pressure side sensitive mechanism RMC including a pressure side operation chamber C communicated with the pressure side chamber R2 and the reservoir R, and a pressure side free piston 24 dividing the inside of the pressure side operation chamber C into a pressure side first pressure chamber C1 and a pressure side second pressure chamber C2. |
