<p>Provided is a ship propulsion device which comprises a screw propeller using a fin-equipped propeller boss cap, the ship propulsion device having better workability and less weight than a ship propulsion device using a propeller boss cap provided with fins having a prior art shape. Also provided is a ship provided with the ship propulsion device. The shape of the rear half of fins (6) is formed in such a manner that, with the diameter (Def) of the front end of a propeller boss cap (5) defined as the reference diameter (Ds), the shape is contained within a truncated cone formed between the bases thereof which are a circle (C3) centered on the rotation center of the propeller and having a diameter (D3) which is defined at the center position (Xm) between the front end (6f) and the rear end (6a) of the root of each fin (6) and is set to be 2.0 times the reference diameter (Ds), and a circle (C4) centered on the rotation center of the propeller and having a diameter (D4) which is defined at the rearmost position (Xe) of the fin (6) and is set to be 1.5 times the reference diameter (Ds).</p> |
