PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid developer that has excellent low-temperature fixability and heat resistance, and can prevent a reduction in scratch resistance of documents.SOLUTION: A liquid developer has toner particles including resin and colorant dispersed in an insulating liquid. The resin includes a first resin that is a urethane-modified polyester resin in which the chain of a component derived from a polyester resin is extended by a component including an isocyanate group, and a second resin different from the first resin. The first resin is contained in an amount of 70 mass% relative to the total of the first resin and second resin. The component derived from a polyester resin includes a constitutional unit derived from an acid component and a constitutional unit derived from an alcohol component. A constitutional unit derived from an aliphatic monomer accounts for 80 mass% or more of the constitutional unit derived from an acid component and the constitutional unit derived from an alcohol component. When the average number molecular weight of the first resin is Mn, and the volume average molecular weight of the first resin is Mw, 2.3≤Mw/Mn≤4 (where 10000≤Mn≤50000) is satisfied. |
