OUTPUT DEVICE AND DIAGNOSTIC METHOD THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an output device capable of reducing the apparatus cost and the packaging area for diagnosing a digital output circuit connected to a load having different response characteristics.SOLUTION: An output device is connected to a first load and a second load, the response time of which is longer than that of the first load. The output device includes: a first digital output circuit which has a first output element which outputs a signal to the first load and a first shutoff element which is connected to the first output element; a second digital output circuit which has a second output element which outputs a signal to the second load and a second shutoff element which is connected to the second output element; and a drive circuit that drives the respective shutoff elements as a batch. A signal from the second output element is turned OFF earlier than a predetermined timing by a response time of the second load; the signals from the respective output elements are turned ON earlier than the predetermined timing by a response time of the first load; and the signals from the first and second shutoff elements are turned OFF to thereby diagnose whether the respective shutoff elements are normal based on the signals from the respective digital output circuits at the predetermined timing.
