PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a coating operation which does not roughen the surface of a coating object while preventing coating unevenness by narrowing the narrowest part of an air flow path.SOLUTION: A spray coating device comprises a coating liquid nozzle 5 discharging a coating liquid 2A from a discharge port 8, and an air cap 6 which surrounds the outer peripheral face of the coating liquid nozzle and forms an air flow path 9 through which an atomized air passes between the nozzle and the outer peripheral face. The device is provided with a spray gun 4 which atomizes the coating liquid supplied from the discharge port of the coating liquid nozzle by the atomizing air supplied from the air flow path to spray to a coating object. In the spray gun, the clearance T of the narrowest part in the air flow path is set to be 0.48 [mm] or less, and the distance L from the narrowest part to the end face at which the discharge port of the coating liquid nozzle is opened is set so that the ratio T/L of the clearance T to the distance L becomes 0.6 or more. |
