<p>The invention relates to a volumetric flow meter meant for measuring the fuel consumption in an internal combustion engine. According to the invention, the flow meter consists of two subassemblies, namely : a distributor (A) and a volumetrically calibrated cylinder (B), the distributor (A) having the role of directing the fluid to be measured to one end of the cylinder (B) and recovering the measured fluid from the other end, and the cylinder (B) having the role of dosing the fluid in equal volumes, the distributor (A) comprises a cylinder (6), provided with some circular holes (7 and 12) within which there longitudinally moves a slide (3) provided with some trays (13 and 14) and having mounted a permanent magnet at each end, so that the fluid entering by means of a hydraulic pipe (18) between the trays (13 and 14) of the slide (3) passes further through the circular holes (7), an annular chamber (15) and a hydraulic channel (16) reaches the calibrated cylinder (B) which is provided inside with a piston (10) which moves under the action of the fluid reaching the proximity of a presence sensor (8) which transmits a signal to some electromagnets (1 and 2) which will be energized and, by means of the permanent magnets, will move the slide (3) so that the fluid will enter the circular holes (12) through another annular chamber and through another hydraulic channel (17), pushing the piston towards the other end of the cylinder (B), determining the recovery of the fluid extant on the other side of the piston (10) through the hydraulic channel (16), the annular chamber (15), the circular holes (7) and another hydraulic channel (19) towards the outlet of the flow meter.</p> |
