PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform such correction that a height and a width of handwritten characters or characters are within those of preceding or succeeding characters even when being partially smaller.SOLUTION: A stroke processing device includes a height correction function unit 14A (correction means) which sets a reference of positions of groups of strokes as a baseline and corrects the position of each group of strokes on the basis of the baseline so that a bottom side level of a circumscribed rectangle of the group of strokes is closer to the baseline. If the height and the width of the circumscribed rectangle of the group of strokes are smaller than prescribed values, the height correction function unit 14A (correction means) corrects the position of the group of strokes by referring to the position of another group of strokes preceding or succeeding the group of strokes and the position of the baseline.
