<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper accumulation device and a paper accumulation method capable of certainly detecting by an existing detection part paper in any position in the vicinity of an accumulation part, and preventing the generation of a residual detection error.SOLUTION: A paper accumulation device (e.g. loose bill ejection part 152) comprises: an accumulation part 10 for accumulating paper; a detection part (e.g. hand detection sensors 14 and 16 or residual bill detection sensors 40, 42, 44 and 48) for detecting paper remaining in the accumulation part 10 or detecting a hand of an operator taking paper out from the accumulation part 10; and paper transfer means (e.g. roller 50 or bill support member 20) for transferring paper in a position which is not detected by the detection part to a position which is detected by the detection part.</p> |
