<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device that reduces ununiformity in glossiness on a toner image formed on a recording material, while maintaining a change in the direction of an endless belt for reciprocating movement in the width direction.SOLUTION: A fixing device includes: first and second rotating bodies that fix a toner image on a recording medium at a nip part located therebetween, at least one of which being an endless belt; position detection means for detecting the position in the width direction of the endless belt; and control means for controlling the endless belt to reciprocatingly move in a predetermined zone in the width direction according to a result of the detection by the position detection means, where the control means includes first means for moving the endless belt, against the skew movement of the endless belt to one end in the width direction, to the other end at a first control amount, and second means for moving the endless belt moved to the other end to the other end while changing the control amount to a second control amount, which is smaller than the first control amount.</p> |
