In a double-glazed domed light whose upper and lower domes 1. 4 have confronting marginal supporting portions 2, 5, the portion 5 has an outwardly and upwardly sloping flange 6 around its rim, the height of the step so formed being slightly greater than the height of sealing spacer strips 8a which are clamped by means of nuts 11 on threaded sleeve 14 and flange 15, between the confronting supporting portions, the flange 6 terminating in a flange 7 parallel to the portions 2 and 5 and being pressed thereagainst by the screw means 11, 14, 15 to form a seal. The sleeve 14 is inserted from below into hole 30 in the spacer strip 8a and has a shouldered bore through which a screw 17 can be inserted from above into a threaded rivet 20 inserted in an aperture in the flange 21 of a supporting frame on the curb 26. A screw cap 12 may be screwed on the end of the sleeve 14 and the head of the screw 17 is covered by a disc (29). The sleeve 14 may be shortened and the upper portion formed as a projection of strip 8a (Fig. 1) and a third dome may be added by interposing between the sleeves and caps on each of the supports a column on which the third dome is supported (Fig. 3).</p> |
