PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling power supplied from an interface for relaying data transmission/reception between an electronic apparatus which performs data communication with a network and a communication device connected to the electronic apparatus to the communication device depending on a state of the network and controlling consumption power of the communication device, and the communication device thereof.SOLUTION: The communication device includes: an interface for relaying connection with an electronic apparatus; transmission/reception means for performing communication between the electronic apparatus and a network; communication state detection means for detecting a state of the network; and interface control means for controlling transfer speed of the interface on the basis of at least one of a state of the electronic apparatus and a state of the network.
