摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption without reducing the drive frequency.SOLUTION: Head drive control means of an image formation apparatus consists of switch means TG0 to TG3 for drive pulse selection, the switch means TG0 to TG3 being provided in a path for applying drive pulses Vp0-Vp3 to the piezoelectric element PZT and opened or closed according to the droplet size of discharged droplets, switch means SW0 to SW3 for initial potential selection, the switch means SW0 to SW3 being provided in a path for applying drive pulses Vp0 to Vp3 to the piezoelectric element PZT by taking a circuitous route around the switches TG0 ro TG3 for drive pulse selection and means of switching the potential of a piezoelectric element PZT from the terminal potential of the drive pulses for the preceding droplet discharge to an initial potential of the drive pulses for the present droplet discharge by closing the switches SW0 to SW3 for initial potential selection corresponding to drive pulses for present droplet discharge through initial potential control signals SN0, in the connection section connecting the terminal potential of the drive pulses for the preceding droplet discharge to initial potential of the drive pulses for the present droplet discharge.</p>
