<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of realizing a transmission function with a simple mechanism in a standing ride type bicycle.SOLUTION: In a pedal structure of a standing ride type bicycle in which pedals are arranged swingably around right and left pedal shafts provided close to rear ends of swingable arms swingable around right and left arm shafts, there is provided an around-pedal-shaft swinging angle restriction mechanism which allows the tread of petals to be nearly horizontal at the arm lower dead point and does not allow the tread of pedals to take a back-leaning angle at the arm upper dead point. When tread force is applied to the central part of the tread of pedals, the arm can descend until impinging on an arm stopper, and, when the tread force is applied to the rear end of the tread of pedals, a pedal stopper impinges on the petal rear end to stop descending of the arm before the arm impinges on the arm stopper. The around-arm-shaft moment arm length and the swinging range of the arm are changed by changing the center of the tread force applied to the pedal by a crew member between (tread surface center) and (tread surface rear end) so as to realize a transmission function between (low torque and high speed) and (high torque and low speed).</p> |
