There is performed at least either of correction coefficient calculation at which fuel injection is performed at a fuel cut operation, and which calculates a correction coefficient for setting deviation &Dgr;Gca between the heat generation rate gravity center position at the execution of the fuel injection and a reference position at zero as the first correction coefficient, and correction coefficient calculation at which fuel injection is performed at the fuel cut operation, and which calculates a correction coefficient for setting deviation &Dgr;Ghr between a heat generation rate at the heat generation rate gravity center position at the execution of the fuel injection and a reference heat generation rate, or between a heat generation rate corresponding to a heat generation rate gravity center point at the execution of the fuel injection and the reference heat generation rate at zero as the second correction coefficient.
