PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation device and method for giving voice guidance at a timing desired by a user who is driving a vehicle, such as an automobile.SOLUTION: When a voice of a user is determined to be a confirmation voice, a navigation device decides a target in a guide point, calculates the time when a vehicle may arrive at the guide point, and generates guide voice data according to the target and the arrival time. The user can acquire a guide route through voice guidance corresponding to the surrounding situation at a desired timing. The user becomes less anxious about route guidance to a destination during driving, thereby reducing driving load and improving convenience. |
