PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance both of occupant restraint performance and OOP performance.SOLUTION: In a vehicular side airbag device 10, a bag body 24 of a side airbag 20 is partitioned into a lower bag portion 34 for restraining a hip and an upper bag portion 36 for restraining an upper body. The lower bag portion 36 is partitioned into right and left chambers 40, 38 juxtaposed in the vehicle width direction with the side airbag 20 inflated and deployed. Gas supplied from an inflator to the left chamber 38 is supplied to the right chamber 40 via a right/left communication port 50. Due to this structure, since the right chamber 40 is inflated later than the left chamber 38, OOP performance can be enhanced compared to the case where the right and left chambers 40, 38 are inflated all at once. When the lower bag portion 34 is inflated and deployed, a right and left division tether 30 is stretched so as to expand the inflation width in the vehicle width direction of the lower bag portion 34. Thus, a highly resistant hip portion L can be effectively restrained by the lower bag portion 34. |
