PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an accurate match check and achieve early determination of a crank counter even if a VVT 40 is provided in an engine 1 that predicts a crank position to which a came edge signal, for example, is possibly input at a time of restart and that determines a crank counter if this predicted crank position matches a crank position to which the cam edge signal is actually input.SOLUTION: A predicted crank position predicted on the basis of a stop crank position (steps ST202 and 203) changes depending on an operating state of the VVT 40 from automatic stop of the engine 1 until completion of restart of the engine 1 (step ST204). |
