<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable smooth overtaking with proper acceleration during tracking traveling to a preceding vehicle.SOLUTION: When it is determined as overtaking during tracking traveling, an acceleration increase amountΔG is calculated based on lap width W between an own vehicle and a preceding vehicle and vehicular gap D between the own vehicle and the preceding vehicle (S3), and target acceleration Gtgt is updated by adding the acceleration increase amountΔG to the target acceleration Gtgt(S4). In addition, for generating the updated new target acceleration Gtgt, engine torque and brake pressure are controlled (S5). Thereby, during overtaking traveling, even when the vehicular gap between the own vehicle and the preceding vehicle is reduced, the acceleration does not decrease relatively, smooth overtaking is achieved, and a driver does not feel discomfort.</p> |
