<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an orientation measurement instrument which is capable of measuring an orientation with high accuracy by preventing skipping of a true bearing.SOLUTION: Master compasses M1 and M2 as the orientation measurement instrument include: a static speed error amount calculation unit 12 which uses an orientation detected by an orientation detection unit 11 and the latitude and speed of a ship to calculate a static speed error D1 which occurs when a motional state of the ship is not varied; a dynamic speed error amount calculation unit 13 which uses the static speed error D1 and the latitude of the ship to calculate a dynamic speed error D2 which occurs when the motional state of the ship is varied; a correction unit 15 which uses either one of the static speed error D1 and the dynamic speed error D2 to correct a speed error in the orientation detected by the orientation detection unit 11; and a switching unit 14 which, when the speed error for use in the correction unit 15 is switched, limits a variation of a speed error D10 inputted to the correction unit 15 so that the variation does not exceed a preliminarily defined threshold.</p> |
