The present invention relates to a zebrafish-based screening method of therapeutic agent for diabetes, or a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating diabetes. According to the present invention, by establishing a zebrafish-based screening system in which a fluorescent glucose inducer, which is a fluorescent material-tagged glucose analogue, with experimental usefulness of the zebrafish animal model are combined, it is possible to rapidly and conveniently detect an anti-diabetes drug candidate which is active in vertebrates. Also, there are advantages in which an amount of intake of a glucose inducer can be rapidly and conveniently measured by fluorescently measuring the amount of intake thereof in a zebrafish due to the use of the fluorescent glucose inducer; and eliminating needs of auxiliary facilities and radiation clean-up treatment due to the use of the typical radioactive glucose tracer. Moreover, the zebrafish-based system is advantageous for reducing input cost and time when performing vertebrate-based high throughput screening, since involving toxicity is analyzable; housing is simple; and there is no need for high technique such as microinjection because glucose can be taken when the fluorescent glucose inducer contacts to the zebrafish.
|
