The system has a supporting device comprising a support element that comprises cells, where a part of the cells receives a front face (21) of individual components (20). A support zone and a contact zone of the components are configured such that a surface of the front face is not in contact with a wall of the cells. The contact zone is located in periphery of the front face to form a closed zone around the front face. The support zone forms another closed zone on the wall of the cells. The contact zone comprises an edge surface that is recessed relative to the front face. An independent claim is also included for a method for transferring components.
