<p>A non-rising stem type gate valve is disclosed. The valve comprises a body (2), a bonnet (3) connected to the body, a stem (4), a wedge (5) and a shear device (6). An upper end of the stem is connected to the shear device and a lower end of the stem is connected to the wedge. The wedge includes a wedge casting (see 52, figures 7A & 7B), a rubber coating layer (see 51, figures 7A & 7B), and guides (see 53, figures 7A, 7B & 7C). The guides are fitted in grooves of the wedge casting to position the wedge casting in the process of applying the wedge rubber coating. This is such that the guides aid in controlling the thickness and uniformity of rubber during wedge rubber coating.</p> |
