Disclosed herein is a composition for sustained release of nutrients in vivo comprising: an aqueous suspension, comprising: biologically active agents; and, one or more hydrogel particles that encapsulate one or more nutritional supplements of (a), wherein the one or more hydrogel particles have a diameter between 1 nanometer to 1000 micrometers; comprise one or more compounds that are crosslinked and that release the encapsulated one or more nutritional supplements in a for time controlled and sustained manner release of the nutritional supplements in vivo; and are temperature-responsive, wherein one or more compounds of the hydrogel particles have a lower critical solution temperature in aqueous solution.
