A position control type wave power generation apparatus is disclosed. The wave power generation apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a floater capable of floating on the sea; a motion changing part which is connected to the floater to change the vertical motion; a generating part which is equipped with the generator and generates electricity; and a position control part which is located under the sea surface in order to generate a driving force by the pitching energy of the waves and is connected by the medium of the motion changing part and moorage member of a predetermined length. The embodiment of the present invention is to provide the position control type wave power generation apparatus which can be adrift freely along an ocean current since it is not fixated beneath the sea floor and simultaneously can produce electricity when the position of the floater is constantly maintained at the specified range beneath the sea floor.
