The present invention relates to a transmitting apparatus and to a zero bit padding method thereof. The transmitting apparatus includes: a zero padding unit which generates an information language by padding a zero bit to L1 post signaling; and an encoding unit which encodes the information language, wherein the zero padding unit divides the information language into a plurality of groups, pads the zero bit in a plurality of groups by group, and pads the additional zero bit from a front end or a rear end of the groups according to a predetermined standard.
