METHOD FOR PRODUCING DOCETAXEL ANHYDRIDE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved method for chemically producing docetaxel having antitumor activity in a chemically stable form.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing docetaxel trihydrate, which comprises: a) a step of mixing a new anhydrous crystalline form of docetaxel, docetaxel anhydride and acetonitrile including a step of mixing docetaxel and a halohydrocarbon to form a solution and a step of adding an anti-solvent to the solution; b) a step of heating the mixture in the step a) at approximately 30 to 60°C; c) a step of adding water to the heated mixture in the step b); c) a step of cooling the mixture in the step c) at 10 to 30°C to obtain a slurry; and e) a step of filtering and washing the slurry in the step d) and followed by drying to obtain docetaxel trihydrate.
