PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substitute for sodium-based salt for use in various food products, while, excessive ingestion of, for example, sodium chloride also known as table salt commonly used in food products involves high blood pressure (hypertension).SOLUTION: A nearly nonhygroscopic salt for use in food products is represented by the following formula (III): MgKx(NH)yClg-zHO. In the formula (III), the total of x and y is approximately 1, satisfying: 0≤x<1 and 0<y≤1, g being approximately 3, z being approximately 4 to 6. The salt for use in food products is nearly nonhygroscopic and nearly hydrochloric acid-free. |
