ADHESIVES MADE FROM POLYMER SYSTEMS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot melt adhesive having a low viscosity for many applications in spite of having a high polymer concentration and to provide a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: There is provided an adhesive comprising at least one polymer system obtained by a process of reducing the melt viscosity of at least one polymer blend starting material, where the process comprises a step of treating at least one polymer blend with at least one radical donor under shear stress at a temperature above the softening point of the polymer blend. The polymer blend starting material is composed of a) a blend of an elastomer rubber or a blend of an elastomer rubber selected from an ethylene-propylene rubber and an ethylene-propylene-diene monomer terpolymer rubber and b) a semi-crystalline olefin polymer or a blend of a semi-crystalline olefin polymer.
