PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a surface-treated steel sheet capable of enlarging, while preventing the generation of appearance defects such as arc spots on a metallic base material, the thickness of a metal-oxygen compound film formed atop the metallic base material, and of improving the productivity of the manufactured surface-treated steel sheet.SOLUTION: In the provided manufacturing method of a surface-treated steel sheet, a steel sheet is continuously fed, by using an electrolyzing line with at least one electrolyzing tank(s) including a metal ion-containing treatment liquid and an electrode, into the treatment liquid within each electrolyzing tank, and in a case where metal-oxygen compound-containing films are formed on both principal surfaces of the steel sheet, a plurality of rolls for feeding the steel sheet into the electrolyzing tank(s) is constituted by an electricity-permeating roll connected electrically to an electric power supply for permeating a DC current to the steel sheet and a non-electricity-permeating roll not connected to the electric power supply. After metal-oxygen compounds have been formed on roll-contacted surfaces of the steel sheet as a result of electrolysis, the electricity-permeating roll is positioned so as to avoid the contact of the metal-oxygen compound with the electricity-permeating roll. |
