Provided is a bag making and packaging machine which, during ultrasonic lateral sealing when a knife disposed in a space formed in an anvil is moved towards a horn and a packaged bag is detached from a packaging film, can easily prevent the knife from making contact with the anvil, or the like, and causing a reduction in the life, or the like, of an ultrasonic unit. The bag making and packaging machine sandwiches a tubular film between a first horn (51a) and a first anvil (51b), and performs ultrasonic lateral sealing. Moreover, the present invention comprises: the knife (72) which is disposed in an anvil-side knife movement space (Sa) that is formed in the first anvil; a knife driving unit; and a guide (76) which is provided at both ends of the first anvil, and in which a guide space (Sg) is formed, said guide space guiding the movement of the knife which is driven by an air cylinder. The width (Dg) of the guide space (Sg) in the direction orthogonal to the longitudinal direction and the movement direction of the knife is shorter than the width (Da) of the space (Sa) in the same direction. |
